Getting into a routine

God has revealed to me how much I have taken for granted back home but also the differences between our cultures. Whenever we go out, everyone you pass by will smile at you and will try to say "Hi!"  Back home that doesn’t happen as much. I have also learned just how much we have a need for Jesus and a need for time that is intimate with Him.

The first days were a little stressful but now it seems like we have gotten into a good routine which honestly... I have been loving! Everyone here is so nice and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for all of us!

Until next time!

What have I learned??

Through these last two weeks, I’ve seen God working in me and my fellow AOTers.
I have gotten closer to God and further from social media. AOT has opened my eyes to a lot that I was doing wrong. I have also found a lot more friendships.

Walking by Faith

I have been so humbled by the reminder of how much more I need Christ to refine my heart. How much more I need to walk in faith, gladly surrendering my own ways because only what’s done for Christ will last.
C.T. Studd

Each day we have been reading about the lives of Gladys Aylward, Jim Elliot, C.T. Studd, Corrie Ten Boom and many other faithful servants of Christ who so willingly gave up their lives so that all nations could know Christ. This is the love and devotion I am praying that the Lord would place in my heart.

Beautiful Feet

After a long day of doing ministry- evangelism & worship- at my group’s home church, I noticed my feet. My feet had never been so dirty. My dirty feet made me smile. My dirty feet reminded me of someone else’s feet, far dirtier than mine.

Feet that enter the homes of broken and corrupt people.
Feet that walked to heal the sick, heal the blind, and raise the dead.
Feet that brought Him to a well where He would offer living water.
Feet that walked to Calvary.

After being reminded of this, my prayer became this: “Make my feet and my shoes dirty; so dirty that it makes others wonder where I’ve been and what I’ve done. Jesus, you will be my answer.”

I am thankful that He brought me here. I am thankful for dirty feet.

How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!   Romans 10:15

Experiencing God

Back in the busy life at home, I often look to God and experience God when it is most convenient for me. But being here, with my new & unique schedule, I am able to surrender to Him almost all times of the day. I am constantly reminded and encouraged to look to Him. I did not realize the magnitude of my disobedience at home. He has provided me with so much peace and clarity recently. God is so good, and I am so happy to be here.

Living in a new country

I have visited countries for a week at a time, but living in a community, so different from the one at home in the US has been so awesome. The people are so welcoming! We’ve already made so many friends with the street vendors.

Pray God would continue to grow these relationships and that we can love them with Jesus’ love.
