It's Always Enough

Full homes, Rich discipleship, and Deep worship

These things have marked my time here In Uganda. Walking through extreme darkness to be greeted by six smiling women who genuinely desire to know God’s Word. Sitting in the homes of women who used to sell their bodies so their children could eat. These women smile joyfully because they now have pure, undefiled hope in Christ, who they want to know more about!!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is always enough. The Word of God is always enough. Let us never shy away from proclaiming the hope that we have In Him and the sacrifice that He made on the cross for us. I am thankful, humbled and in awe of the Lord.

Faithful to Provide

the words i could say about this trip and these people... my favorite people.. and the work that the Lord is doing is innumerable, so i’ll say this instead: 

the Lord is faithful to provide

He has shown His provision in these people, in the places and in the work. 

He has proven Himself time and again this summer. from the simplest of requests to make it rain to fully showing us during our last week that we are never going to be useless while doing the Lord’s work, and that we were placed with purpose.

this summer was hard but it was also so dang easy. being away from the american ideals of  what a christian should be... and how i am failing at that every day... and seeing that real-life long-term missionaries are regular people who love God and are simply serving Him somewhere else was good for my soul. 

the Lord is GOOD. & faithful. & our provision. & our rainmaker. & our joy.

Job Description: Have the full Karamajong Bush experience. Join a team of bush missionaries who are willing to go out & do whatever it takes to take the Gospel into some very difficult places & peoples. Learn to use Chronological Bible Storying to evangelize & disciple. Also be involved in a simple organic church. We have the unique opportunity to live among & do life with the people of Karamoja on a daily basis. Some days are difficult, but the great days make the difficult ones worth it.

June 3  Team member training begins (Alabama)

June 8  Teams deploy for the field (via ATL)

COVID-19 in 2021

We continue to move forward in planning for summer 2021 teams. Decisions will be made as we get into 2021 as to whether or not certain teams may need to be cancelled due to travel restrictions or local situations. Info will be posted on the website if teams are cancelled. 

Bush Missionary: Good Bye!

What an amazing group of people. We had to say goodbye to these people who we love and have become family. This team gave so much and worked extremely hard for the past two months with us in Kaabong. They are humble servants and their love for the unreached and our KJ people is contagious. We sure will miss them and their amazing attitudes. Nehemiah Teams is awesome and I would highly recommend them to anybody who needs more information. A shout out to Laekan for recommending and working it all out for them to get here. We absolutely love these guys and their hearts!

Go Wild!

Got to go camping at Kidepo! An incredible experience enjoying God's creation with the amazing views and the animals. Got to see a lot of animals. Awesome time of encouragement.

Pray for the team as they host/assist with a US volunteer team beginning this weekend. Pray for fruitful ministry in the local villages.
Pray for them as they say their good-byes to local partners later next week to begin their journey back to the US.

Helping the church do church

Great Sunday morning worship. 45+ adults and 80+ kids. Simon told the story of the Passover and then Simon and I were able to teach on the Lord’s Supper. It was received well by all, it sure was something new for many of them. We will take the Lords Supper next week as a Church for the first time. Please pray as these believers grow in their faith and for Simon as he shepherds his flock.

Looking Forward to Heaven

In Heaven there will be no more pain.

In Heaven there will be no more hunger.

Today (Friday) these words were sung confidently by the Karamajong believers during our weekly Friday morning Bible Study. They sing these words knowing that one day there will be no more raids, no more starvation, and no more sickness. Be in prayer for these believers as they continue to walk in this truth and be the light in a place of so much darkness. Click here for video

TLW Commitments... pray for purity

A lot of TLW commitments. Will you join us in praying for theses students to live sexually pure lives and to wait to have sex until marriage?

Pray that they would stay true to their commitment. In the KJ culture sexual purity is not talked about and polygamy is the cultural norm, Only Christ can bring healing and change. We are praying for that spiritual change among our young students here.

The Gospel & a bucket

We were able to visit a very new village today to see a friend's mother who is very sick. We used the BGR bucket as a way gain access into this new village. We are hoping to build more relationships with the people in this village. This old lady was hearing the Gospel for the first time. We also gave her the bucket and explained the things that were in there.

Uganda TLW... A great first day

Our first day of teaching at the Secondary Schools. We are teaching the “True Love Waits” program that has been modified for the African context, using Biblical principles, the Bible & the Gospel as the source. We had great responses from the students and the teachers. It is a three hour long teaching program, each time.  We will be teaching at 2 Secondary Schools at least two times a week with multiple follow up sessions after. 

We are also working on a curriculum on basic hygiene and basic sex education for the primary schools. We are planning on starting that next month.

Courage & Perseverance to learn

We reopened our Karamajong Literacy program. Please pray for the 13 students as we meet Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons. Pray for the Nehemiah Team as they lead alongside our national partners Abraham, Lochoto and Nakong. Pray for the students to have confident courage and perseverance as they learn. May we all grow closer in our walks with Jesus as we journey together.

True Love Waits in Uganda

Guys working on a biblically-based sex education curriculum with our national guys and believers. They will be teaching this is at the local schools beginning next week. This also has naturally led to the discipleship of our guys.
The ladies working on their curriculum for the girls. They had a panel of nationals to help, assist and answer questions and write the curriculum. Our national partners will also assist with the teaching. This has been an eye opening and a amazing cultural experience for the team.

For the students in the classes, pray they will understand the significance of what they are learning and how it affects their daily lives.
As biblical values are shared, pray that the students will begin to understand the role God wants to have in their daily lives.

It’s been a busy, fun, work day! The girls got to do some work in the garden, the guys worked on some construction projects and all had a full afternoon of language. We ended the day with Church at our house.

We had the privilege of hosting a team of 8 college students from North Greenville University who where working with our ministry partner in Kaabong. It was great to worship & share a meal with like minded believers. It sure was a treat!
