Seeking the Lost

We've had our fare share of trial & tribulations over these first few weeks, but by God's grace & His grace alone we are sustained time & time again!

In our current district we are doing further research & exploration of our assigned people groups. We are blessed to have found 1 of our people groups... learning more about who they are, their culture & ultimately making His name known.
  • Pray as we continue to explore our assigned area. Pray for open doors as we seek to find the people groups who are waiting to hear the Good News.

Bringing the Joy

Is has been a joy to bring local believers alongside us & encourage & disciple them in the importance of sharing their faith. We have found some fertile soil in the hearts of people. But so many here have never heard the Good News... being the first to bring this news has been a joy!

Pray for Susie & Katie... that we will be able to follow up with them despite their busy schedules... they are truly seeking.
Pray also for continued strength & encouragement as cultural adjustments have been hard.
Pray we will continue to find people in the city who are genuinely seeking among so many who feel no need or desire for a Savior.

Greatest Story Ever

Our location is a center that is in an area where a lot of people live. Nearly 100 children come to the center each day. Liz and I teach English in the morning while our Korean team mates teach guitar and piano lessons. The kids are excited to learn English and to show off the English that they already know. After two hours of learning English the kids leave and go home for lunch. We eat lunch  together as a staff at the center.

When the children arrive again it is time for Bible lesson. We start with fun songs and then break into groups to read the Greatest Story Ever, the Wonderful Story, and the VBS Bible materials. We read through stories, draw pictures from the stories and play games like fill in the sentence, guess the word, and crossword puzzles all with words from the stories.

After a full day at the center we return to the apartment where we are staying at and cook dinner as a team. In the morning after breakfast, but before children start arriving we join the centers staff Bible study -to dive into the word together and pray before we start our day. Sundays we join the center for worship, another Bible lesson then we eat lunch with the kids.

Our time here in South East Asia is quickly coming to an end. I pray that the time that we have spent here has been beneficial to furthering the kingdom of God and that the children have learned more about God’s love for them.

Pray for the children who are attending the daily classes. As they hear the Greatest Story Ever, pray for the Holy Spirit to work in their lives.

LMCO Day 1: Nepal

The Bagby Family Story

The streets that line the city where Radford and Sarah Bagby* live are the kind people in the United States would find to go four-wheeler riding. “Get outside of that, and it’s so much worse,” Radford says. And outside of that is exactly where they’re trying to go.

Getting to the 28 people groups in the mountains of Nepal takes a journey of weeks by car, plane, and trekking on foot—and that’s if everything goes just right. “It’s a relationship-based, long-term type of work,” Radford said. “It will be a lot of thankless work for a few years, but I do think we will see a lot of progress in our lifetime. It’s just very slow. The fields are hard.”

We are able to share the hope we have with them.

But they’ve seen God use two things to soften hearts—a major earthquake and their children. The couple has trekked for days at a time uphill with toddlers, even while Sarah was pregnant.

“People see our kids, and they open up about their lives and about the children they lost in the earthquake,” Sarah said. “We are able to share the hope we have with them.”
  • PRAY for God to remove barriers as the Bagbys hike to unreached people groups.
  • PRAY God will continue to open hearts in Nepal and raise up national believers who will boldly take the gospel to other villages.
