Lows: It has been very difficult having a language barrier with the majority of the people we encounter. The only Thais who speak good enough English to have a conversation are the university students. This limits our ability to be witnesses for Christ in everyday interactions with people. Even if they do speak English, it’s not their heart language, so they might not understand the full weight of the gospel. We’ve also experience rejection from students, or they will ignore our messages. This can be very discouraging, and is difficult to bounce back from
Highs: God has blessed us with opportunities to share the gospel, and some have responded very positively. Some have showed interest in following Jesus, but are held up by their cultural and family ties to Buddhism. There are several strong Thai believers who are involved in the ministry we’re a part of, and they’ve been able to connect to many of the college students, creating opportunities for them to hear the gospel told in their own language, from people with the same background as them!
Please pray:
- SATAN IS WORKING HARD AGAINST US, PRAY THAT HE WOULD BE RESTRICTED IN HIS WORK, AND THAT THE GOSPEL SEEDS WOULD NOT BE SNATCHED AWAY BY HIM. ALSO THAT WE WOULD BE PROTECTED FROM DISCOURAGEMENT!
- PRAY FOR THE THAI BELIEVERS, THAT GOD WOULD CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN THEM AND BUILD THEM UP, AND GIVE THEM THE BOLDNESS TO SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH THEIR NEIGHBORS. PRAYER FOR DISCIPLESHIP OF NEW BELIEVERS, THAT THEY WOULD REMAIN IN THE FAITH.
