Waray-Waray Prayer Update

Believers are divided in groups to practice leading Simply the Word (STW)
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2

Prayer concern:
  1. Pray for Waray-waray leaders and disciples to be raised up from every village & that they will also reach out to other villages with the gospel.
  2. Pray for Waray-waray people group that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened so that they will understand the truth and the urgency of the Great Commission.
  3. Pray for blessings for Waray-waray people's livelihood.
  4. Pray and support for the follow up team's food and travel expenses as they move from village to village up river.
  5. Pray for the follow up teams God's guidance, protection, strength and wisdom.

Thank you to all partners and friends for praying and supporting me in this journey. To God be all the honor and glory. Amen.

God did BIG things!

Greetings from the Philippines!

We just finished our 8-day adventure in Cag-lao-an, and lemme tell you, God did BIG things! This was the biggest barangay of the summer and we stayed busy doing Bible studies, playing basketball, hiking through the jungle and playing with the many, many precious kids. We had Bible studies everyday from 12-8 on the hour, every hour- how awesome is that? The people were so eager to learn about God and grow in their faith. Many accepted Christ while we were there and we even got the incredible opportunity to baptize a few young men! What I was super pumped about was that all of the baptisms were directly after one of the night studies. They approached us and said they wanted to be baptized so we were like "Awesome, how about we do it in the morning?" and all of the guys were like "Nope, it's gotta be right now."  Okay, lets suit up! So we all went to the river, with our flashlights and prayed with them and baptized them. It was so encouraging to see those decisions being made, and not only made, but acted upon right then and there!

The people in Cag-loa-on are such wonderful people and they opened their homes to us, shared food with us, and encouraged and shared with us just as much as we encouraged and shared with them.

As we had to say goodbye, we challenged them to:
1. Stay unified as believers

2. Reach the unbelievers through love, example and service and

3. Stay strong through opposition and remember their purpose

Please join with us in praying for the believers in that way, and pray for the un-believers to open their hearts.

And please continue praying for our team as we leave for our last barangays in 2 days to:

1. Finish strong

2. Stay in good physical and spiritual health

3. Continue to love the Waray-Waray people like Jesus does!

Hungry people & prayer requests

Greetings from the Dolores team. We have just returned from our first village. The people were so hungry for the Word of God and we were able to see Him move in many peoples lives. We would love for you to join in praying for the people on the Dolores River.

  • Pray for the believers that are earnestly working for the name of God. Pray that they will continue to be encouraged and will stay strong. Pray for their families to understand the Word of God.
  • Pray  for the ones who have begun to believe in Christ as their Savior. Pray for their continued growth and for them to share what they have learned with others around them.
  • Pray  for the two groups who have decided to meet weekly and have Bible studies. Pray they will encourage each other and that others will join them in studying the word.

Colossians 1:9-10. For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God.
