Waray-Waray Prayer Update

Believers are divided in groups to practice leading Simply the Word (STW)

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2 Timothy 2:2 

Prayer concern:

1. Pray for Waray-waray leaders and disciples to be raised up from every village & that they will also reach out to other villages with the gospel.
2. Pray for Waray-waray people group that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened so that they will understand the truth and the urgency of the Great Commission.
3. Pray for blessings for Waray-waray people's livelihood.
4. Pray and support for the follow up team's food and travel expenses as they move from village to village up river.
5. Pray for the follow up teams God's guidance, protection, strength and wisdom. 

Thank you to all partners and friends for praying and supporting me in this journey. To God be all the honor and glory. Amen.

Prayer Requests for the Riverboat Teams

Pray for V, a young man who has great leadership potential. Pray for his continued growth and knowledge of the Word, and for his confidence to increase. Pray that he would find an opportunity for discipleship.

Pray for Naynay G, an elderly woman who prayed to receive Christ and was baptized later that day. She shows an obvious understanding of the Truth that she is learning. She immediately began to face persecution for her decision to follow the Bible above the prevalent religious traditions. Pray for her strength to be renewed, and that the Lord would provide her with fellowship and support from others.

Pray that Kuya P and Ate D would teach their friends and neighbors what they've learned.

Pray for Ate K, the Baragay Captain's daughter, who opened up to the women on our team in a really genuine way. Her youngest child is missing two ribs, and will undergo surgery in a couple of months. Pray for her to see clearly what God has done for her. Pray for her to find a hunger for the Bible, and for her faith to increase.

Pray for Kuya I, who has an eagerness to learn from scripture. Pray that he would step up as a spiritual leader for the men of this barangay.

Pray for Kuya F, a man who started attending multiple Bible studies every day, and would help to explain part of the lesson to others at almost all of them. Pray that as others continue to look up to him, they would be lead to understand the truth for themselves.

Pray that Kuya H and his household would understand the commitment that they have made.

Pray for Barangay C. There is an evident darkness in this place. Drinking, gambling, and sexual sin seem more openly a part of life here than any other place we have seen this summer. Pray for protection for the children of this barangay.

Pray for our translator, Luigi, as he returns to work with another volunteer team for four months. Pray for the relationships that he will continue building with these people. Praise God for Luigi's willingness to be obedient and follow Him in everything.

Pray that we would be able to effectively share what we've learned and how we've grown. Pray that we would stay humble and obedient, and that God would continue to receive the glory for what He's done.

This summer is coming to an end, and my team and I have grown tired and drained from our ministry here on the Oras River. As we began a week of ministry in our final barangay, it was pouring down rain. We had invited so many people to see our plaza presentation, but nobody was showing up. 

I was praying, “God, please let the rain stop and bring many to our presentation.” Right on cue the rain stopped, but there were only a few random people standing around.. I didn’t even really want to sing or do the drama skit, because nobody had shown up. We had come in fired up to finish strong in our last week, and we were left standing in puddles, awkwardly in the middle of a basketball court, thinking of postponing the presentation.

We ended up just shortening things and trying to get it over with. We sang a couple of Waray songs, shared a testimony, and explained that we had traveled there to teach the Bible. With much doubt in my mind, we began to talk to people in an attempt to schedule Bible studies. At that moment, God changed my view of His purpose that day. God didn’t need a plaza presentation; He was going to work in the hearts of the Waray-Waray people rain or shine. 

The next thing I knew, we had 14 Bible studies scheduled for the next day. Just like He did for me on that day, God is continually revealing His plan in this world. It’s not so that Christians can try to fit God into our schedule, but so that we can see how we fit into His big plan. 

Roman 6:18 calls us slaves to righteousness, and as slaves we are obedient to our Master. We serve a boundless God who can’t be put in a box, so we obedient followers of Jesus Christ must be completely submitted to His plan.

Prayer Requests for the Riverboat Teams

Pray for Naynay I, a woman from a Muslim family who became a Christian. Her husband always seems to be drinking and spending the money that she earns from working all day. Pray that the Lord would be her strength and that she would persevere. Pray for her to find an opportunity to meet with others, in spite of her hectic schedule.

Pray for Ate F and her son J, who has been diagnosed with TB. Pray that the Lord would provide for them as they seek treatment. Pray that He would work in their lives in an awesome way that only He can receive the glory for. Pray for healing.

Pray for R, a teenage boy who has made a decision to follow Jesus and shows great leadership potential.

Pray for Ate E and her 92-year-old aunt who has dementia and is experiencing a lot of fear. Pray that they would find rest and peace in the Lord.

Pray for Naynay E and her daughter, Ate B, who was very wary of our reason for meeting with them. Pray that she would come to a knowledge of her need for God. Naynay E practically blind, but remains eager to learn. Her grandson, P, has been reading scripture to her.

Pray for Kuya M and Ate I, who have been meeting for weekly Bible studies for over a year. Kuya M is a Barangay Official, and both of them remain very well respected in the community. Pray that the Lord would give them boldness. Pray for their leadership and renewed strength.

Pray for Barangay D, a place of many strongholds, and very evident sickness and loneliness. Pray that God would show his power and be glorified in this place.

Proverbs 16:9 says, "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." For two months, God has shown me this again and again. Every step we took this summer was directed by God. He began by orchestrating our teams, and placed all of us exactly where He wanted us. Every Bible study happened because He planned it. All summer God has given us the words to speak. Despite all of our planning for Bible studies, the Holy Spirit always communicated His own message, rather than ours. That is awesome! We don't have to worry about our plans because God has His.

One night I had a dream about Romans 10, a message of salvation to all people. I woke up and read it. I had drawn a star in my Bible next to verse 9.

"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10:9

I talked to everyone on my team about it and asked what they thought it meant. I already had a Bible study planned for that afternoon, so I just assumed that God wanted me to use that verse in my Bible study.

While I was talking about the dream with our translator, Luigi, a woman came to our door. Luigi told me that I should share my dream with her, so I asked her to come inside. She came in and I shared what I had dreamed. Luigi then explained how Jesus is the only way back to God. The woman began to cry and then she accepted Christ!

If I had used my plan, I would have just shared the dream at my Bible study, and that woman wouldn't have a relationship with Christ. God used the dream He gave me. He is directing my steps and I praise Him for that! His plans are so much better than mine anyway.

Dear God,


You are so good. I understand what that means more now than I ever have before. Whenever I am discouraged, You are faithful to encourage me right away. I've seen Your Presence with us so clearly and I thank You for that. You know every anxious thought I have and You are quick to remind me that You created me the way I am for a purpose and that You walk with me always. 

I see Your Spirit in my teammates, in the hearts of the people we are sharing with as they recognize Your Truth, and in the prayers You answer so faithfully. Many times I catch myself feeling discouraged or frustrated, but discouragement is not from You, God. You have had the best in mind for us from the beginning.

"And the Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence."

Exodus 33:19

God, continue the work on these rivers. You have a big plan for these people. Show them Your goodness. If they see that, there will be no choice but to praise You.


I love these people, but how much greater is Your love for them. Thanks for filling my heart when it needed filling. He who promised is faithful. I pray we never doubt that. Grow Your Kingdom. Show Your goodness to the nations.

Prayer Requests for the Riverboat Teams

Pray for Ate P, an encouraging woman who has started holding a Bible study in her home each Thursday evening. Pray that she would grow and be strengthened as a leader.

Pray for Naynay D, who was baptized and has started attending the Bible study with Ate P. Pray for the Lord to continue solidifying her faith and revealing Himself to her.

Pray for Kuya J, a Barangay Counselor who is a strong leader in the community. He has already started studying his new Bible on his own. Pray that he would understand the scripture and be strengthened to obey.

Pray for Naynay B, a woman who shows love and discipline to the children of this community. She has told us that she has trouble understanding the scripture, so pray for clarity as she joins the Bible study with Ate P.

Pray for V, a young lady who has been leading a Bible study for the youth. Pray that she wouldn't be discouraged because of her age, but that she would be filled and eager to continue in her ministry.

Pray for Ate M, a community leader who works closely with the Barangay Captain. She shows a lot of interest in learning more and in being baptized.

Pray for Naynay M, who didn't attend our group Bible study until the last day. Pray for understanding as she studies the Word, and for a motivation to meet with others.

Pray for Kuya H and Ate A, a loving Christian couple who used to live in Manila and greatly desire to be a part of a church in their barangay. Pray that they would be bold and motivated to become leaders.

Pray for Naynay I and Naynay F, two women who seem to have a gift for gathering people together. Group studies in their homes grew throughout the week, and combined for a church service on Sunday with 17 adults in attendance. Pray for their personal growth, and that they would continue to encourage others. Pray for those attending the Bible studies throughout the week - that the Lord would continue to work in their hearts and draw them to Himself.

Pray for Ate N and her four-year-old daughter, J, who has cerebral palsy. Ate N shows a lot of interest in the Bible, asked for a list of verses that she could read. She struggles to discern between so many different teachings that she has heard, and doesn't know what to believe. Pray that God would continue to provide for them as J get older.

The Power of Prayer

God is making it exceedingly clear that He is the one working in Eastern Samar. He never ceases to remind us how small we are, and how great His plan is. He is humbling us and revealing to us His faithfulness in new ways every day.

There are countless ways that He has moved, and every one of them points to His power. We have prayed for specific people to be raised up as leaders, and we have already heard about their growth in the Word and their obedience to follow Christ. We have seen their Bibles getting use and their community growing. They've even gone out of their way to travel to us, tell us about their Bible studies, and thank us for coming to serve. The Lord has used them to encourage us.

God also challenges us and gives us growth in prayer. In prayer, we act on our faith. We've entered so many homes to tell people about Jesus, and encountered extreme physical ailments. Even people who don't know the Lord know to ask for prayer. James 5 tells us, "the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick," and, "the prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." In that dim thatch room, laying my hand on a woman who had suffered a debilitating stroke, I quickly realized that I don't often pray by faith.

So I changed. I prayed for God to move in her life. I prayed, in the name of Jesus, that He would heal her and be glorified. I've lost count of the suffering people I've prayed for. There always seem to be more, and my faith is tested every time.

We don't always see God's response, but we can know without a doubt that He is faithful. Naynay S has had a cyst in her nose for the past year, and has also suffered from strokes which have impaired her control over the right side of her body. She was unable to leave her chair, so we went to her home daily, to share what Jesus has done for her and pray for her health. Before too long, her cyst disappeared and she regained her strength to walk! The next day she was baptized!

I don't fully understand prayer. I don't know exactly what it does or why it works, but I know that it holds incredible power. When God moves in response to our prayer, He is not working within our frame of reference. He is giving us an opportunity to more clearly see Him working. I will never cease to fervently pray, and when my God answers, it is only He who will receive the glory.

Pray for Ate M, a mother of nine children who is living under the burden of medical bills, flood damage to her home, and the pain of a miscarriage. Pray that God would be her strength and her peace.

Pray for Kuya P, a man who has accepted Christ, followed in baptism, shared his testimony as part of a church service that we held on Sunday morning, and even expressed a desire to continue holding a Bible study in his home multiple times each week after we leave. Pray that he would continue to grow in his faith and recognize the Lord's call for him to step up as a spiritual leader.

Pray for Kuya J, who has accepted Christ and remains on our hearts. Pray that he would grow and learn to own his faith.

Pray for Kuya B, who has prayed to receive Christ and seems to have an understanding of God's Word. Pray that he would find confidence in the Lord to lead others.

Pray for Kuya E, a young man in whom the Spirit is working in a very evident way. Pray that he would become a godly influence on others his age, who seem to be less interested in a relationship with Jesus. Pray that his friends N and B would take interest in studying the Bible.

Pray for Ate V, a woman who is genuine in her faith, and full of emotion. She readily admitted that she is a sinner, and was eager to host others in her home to study the Bible.

Pray for Kuya G, who is already telling others what Jesus has done. Pray that he would continue growing in his faith and making disciples.

Pray for Kuya J, a man with a Muslim background who initially refused to speak the name of Jesus Christ, but later prayed to become a Christian along with his wife. Pray that they would continue to learn to trust God to meet their needs.

Pray for the children who are obviously hungry for scripture. Pray that their decision to follow Christ would continue to define their lives after we leave.

Pray that God would send laborers into these barangays where so many have chosen to follow Jesus.

God has definitely gone ahead of us into each barangay to prepare the hearts of the people. Mark 3:27 says, "But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house." God has answered prayers and has restrained Satan. Many people have given their lives to Christ and have been eager to hear the Word of God!

A vast majority of the people here are Roman Catholic and know very little of the Bible. The good news is that they believe the Bible is true, and once we teach them they are willing to accept truth. They see that their idols and traditions are sinful and powerless, and most are willing to acknowledge their sin and are happy to accept Jesus as their personal Savior. Our translator Luigi tells us that the two villages we have been to have been more receptive to the gospel than any of the villages that were visited last summer. We know from Romans 9:16 that this does not depend on us at all, but on God's mercy. So please keep praying! It has been clear that God has been hearing and faithfully answering all prayers!

Personally, I have become more aware and sensitive to the work and voice of the Holy Spirit. Through the Spirit I have been given boldness, words to speak, and seen answers to prayer in different situations. There have been multiple times when I have read a passage of scripture that was a perfect answer to a question later that day. In one instance, I was given boldness to speak the truth in a Bible study with the village witch doctor. I was able to show him that what he was doing wasn't right according to the Word of God. One time, a woman shared with us that her husband was unwilling to come to the Bible study and had issues with anger and abuse. We prayed, and the next night he came to the Bible study and accepted Christ as his Savior and Redeemer! Praise God! I am confident that all these things have come by the Spirit working through my weakness, as it says in Romans 8:26.

I come to see more and more each day how powerful prayer is, and how essential it is to our mission, and to every mission. We have seen evidence of prayer and work of the Holy Spirit in both of the barangays we have visited so far. We have seen it in continued team unity, safety, health, and most importantly, in receptiveness to the gospel and the name of Jesus.

I pray and have faith that God will water, grow, and multiply every seed that has been planted. I pray, and urgently ask for you to continue to pray, that more and more people will come to know the greatest thing they could ever know - Christ Jesus their Lord!

Making Disciples

Our purpose in this place is to share the love of Christ with a people who haven't experienced it. We are here as teachers of the Bible to a people who haven't heard what it says. We find joy in seeing the Lord move, and are humbled to be used for His Kingdom.

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth." 

1 Corinthians 3:6-7

The Spirit is moving amongst these people in an obvious way. Never could we have expected people to be so receptive to the gospel or hungry for God's Word. The Lord is drawing people to Himself and changing their hearts. They are learning how to be obedient, and are making decisions based on their faith apart from our leadership.

"And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." 

1 Corinthians 2:1-2

As we present the gospel, teach Bible studies, and answer questions, we find comfort in knowing that the salvation of others doesn't depend on our words. Language barriers and noisy roosters and spiritual darkness await us at every turn, but nothing can stop us from testifying to the cross. 

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." 

Matthew 28:19-20

One man made the decision to follow Jesus, and started leading others to do the same within a matter of days! One girl took the scripture that was explained to her, and used it to lead her grandparents to pray to receive Christ! God is moving in a mighty way. He is ready to use us. All we have to do is obey.

Luigi, Makenzie, and Joe teach a group of kids how to use their hands to illustrate the gospel message, so that they can tell others what Jesus has done for them.

I was reading my Bible one day when I saw a dog that had been hanging around the village. This dog was absolutely repulsive. He was skinny, had pink bald spots all over him, and if you touched him, he'd yelp in pain. If you got too close, he'd limp away, terrified.

Sitting next to that mangy, awful looking dog, I realized that's me: dying, gross, and undesirable in my sin, until Jesus touched me and healed me.

Father, thank you for reminding me of my desperate need for You. Clean me! I am a dirty mangy mutt. I need you to make me whole. Let the gospel be very real to me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Break me of my sin; show me the depth of it. Then break my heart for others.


The people in these barangays are sick in their sin, just like I was. They need Christ to touch them and heal them just as I do. Psalm 130 is my prayer; that the people will cry out to the Lord from the depths of their sin.

"Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentiveto the voice of my pleas for mercy! If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities."

In 1 Kings 19, Elijah is running from Jezebel, who is furious because the prophets of Baal had been slaughtered. In the depths of his discouragement, Elijah is comforted by the Lord through an angel. Elijah is then led to a mountain, and commanded to "go out and stand on (it) before the Lord." 


"And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper." 


Just like God comforted Elijah, God has given me comfort as well. In a place where people always stare at me, where I do not know the language, and where my feet never get clean, God soothes me. In a place where everything is foreign, God shows me familiarity through the studying of His Word. In the midst of inconveniences,  God has humbled me through His refreshingly loving Spirit. And in the presence of pain, God continues to excite me with His beautiful presence. As a Christian, I must listen for God's low whisper.


"For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken." Psalm 62:1-2

Reaching the Waray-Waray

Just as the word "waray" translates to mean "nothing," the Waray-Waray people of Eastern Samar have nothing. They are poorer than the poorest, lower than the lowest class of people in the Philippines.

They are an animistic people with a Roman Catholic facade. They readily admit that there is one God, and they respect the Bible as His Word, but lesser spirits continue to be feared. Practicing witch doctors reside in each barangay, and they, as well as priests, are sought after when conflict arises. Superstition affects many aspects of life in the barangay, one of the most evident being a talisman worn around the neck. Despite the spiritual barriers that result from these practices, this belief system allows for much work to be done on our part.

We openly travel to each barangay to teach the Bible. Our skin color opens doors and draws crowds. Much of our time consists of showing up at someone's home, sharing our stories, and preaching the gospel, and the people are largely receptive.

We've also found other ways to connect with the people. We use Plaza Presentations to introduce ourselves to each barangay as a whole, we play games and tell Bible stories to the kids, with hopes that their enthusiasm will spread to their parents, and we play basketball with some of the men in order to gain their respect.

We have traveled an incredible distance to reach this place. God's plan is greater than we can understand, but we know His love and He has given us a beautiful opportunity to share it with a people who haven't heard.

It has been a little over a week since we first landed here in the Philippines, and less than a week here at our first barangay. We have had many opportunities to share the gospel with the Waray-Waray people.

A big thing that really spoke to me was when we were given the chance to lead a funeral service at one of the homes. When we got to the house, the men were still building the casket. As we did the service and the men kept building, Acts 20:24 came to my mind.

"I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

What if the boy who died didn't know who Jesus was? What about all the other people we won't be able to reach? This gave me more of a push and a reminder of why we are here - to spread the good news of Jesus! I know we may not be able to see or speak to all of the people in this barangay, but I can spread His gospel to those who we meet.

My prayer is that the Lord would keep opening doors for our team, and that we may stay strong through all the trials that are to come.

Prayer Requests for the Riverboat Teams

Pray that those who have made an outward profession of their faith would grow to know God's love. Pray that their hearts would not be like the rocky soil in Mark 4. They have received the Word immediately with joy, but pray that they won't fall away when trials come.

Pray for Ate L, a new believer whose spirit has changed in an evident way. She accepted Christ with tears in her eyes, and thanked us for coming to tell her the Good News. Now she must have faith as she raises her eight children. Her husband, Kuya R, is a man with many vices. Pray that she would be strengthened and eager to lead her family to love the Lord.

Pray for Naynay F, who hosted us as we gathered for house church outside her home on Sunday morning. Pray for a group of believers to continue meeting each week after we leave, to study the Word and encourage each other. Pray that Ate V, whose passion for the Word is evident, would grow in her faith and become a leader for her family and others.

Pray for Kuya J, one of several men we've been playing basketball with every day. He told us that he has a Waray Bible that he reads early each morning before he goes to work. Pray that he would lead other men to love the Word and devote themselves to study.

Pray that the gospel would be evident in our words and actions.

Pray for our team to be unified and in-tune with the Spirit.

Pray for perseverance. We go to bed exhausted every day. Pray that the Lord would be our strength and that we would remain eager to serve.

A Funeral and an Opportunity

The death of a local family member brought us an opportunity to share the love of Christ in a time of mourning. They invited us to lead a funeral service at their home as the men of the family worked to construct the casket. We sang a song in Waray about God being our refuge, and shared the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus.

Just as the noise of handsaws and makeshift hammers made it difficult to hear the words that were being preached, the cultural traditions that dominate the way of life in this place can threaten to drown out the Truth of the gospel.

Pray for our love for the Waray-Waray people to grow, and for the love of Christ to be reflected in us. Pray for discernment as we speak and seek to bless these families.

We have been in our first barangay for about six days now, and it has been really exciting! We have met some people who're interested in studying the Bible and getting to know God. We are building relationships and we are hopeful for progress when people come to follow up. I have a positive feeling for the way our first barangay is going, but it didn't really start out that way for me.

Once we got off the river we had a Bible study with a group of people almost immediately. Taylor shared his testimony and told the story of the prodigal son, and our translators Mic-Mic and Mac-Mac translated for him. They went on to explain the gospel message even further, and answered some questions. This was great, but I quickly became discouraged. It seemed like it would make a lot more sense if there were seven Filipinos here who could understand the language. I felt like I couldn't be used as much because I couldn't understand everything that was being said. I felt like I could have been used more elsewhere.

My feelings quickly changed after we visited our first couple of houses. One of the first houses that we visited was Ate L. She and her husband, Kuya R, have several kids. Andrew shared his testimony and the gospel message. She started crying as we were talking to her. She said that nobody had ever come to tell her this before. She was amazed that we came all the way from America just to share about Jesus. As we left, she said, "Thank you very big."

I may not be able to answer questions directly or add a lot to the discussion, but the fact that I am here and that a group of us came from so far away to tell one important message could make a difference in somebody's life. God can use me in even the most insignificant ways to plant His seeds so that He can grow them. I'm really excited to see what God does through us for the rest of the summer.

Our teams have finally made their first ventures in the adoption of barangay life here in the heart of the Dolores River. Tasks such as bucket bathing, purifying our water, and hand washing our clothes have become integrated into our daily routines. Even amidst these stark shifts in culture, our teams find security in the consistency of the Lord. He is the same God now that He has always been, eternally unchanging. The same God that we worship back home is here with us in the seemingly far removed jungles of the Philippines. We can find our rest in Him for He alone is our refuge.

Now our two groups are bound in Spirit as we separate and begin to make our ways up our respective rivers. I am reminded of Exodus 33:14-15 where the Lord commands Moses and the nation of Israel to move onward. Moses makes a simple request. If the presence of the Lord does not go with them, he does not wish to move. As we are now commanded to move from our place of comfort we are assured that the Lord’s presence goes with us, and He will give us rest. He alone will be our sustainer as we proclaim His gospel to the Waray-Waray.

Baptism in the Dolores

What better way to begin our time in Eastern Samar than to join a local church as they celebrate the baptism of new believers? Four people came to know the Lord through outreach Bible studies started by members of this church body. In a place of such evident spiritual darkness, there is Life to be found.

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
