Our Journeymen, Joe & Elizabeth, will be spending the next few months in another part of the Philippines, training, setting-up, & supervising several Nehemiah Teams. Read their latest blog entries to see where they are & what they've been doing. We miss them in Davao City!

Where No One Would Dare GO

I was told many times, “Do not witness to them. You can walk around but do not talk to them.” In my heart I said, “They were the reason why I came to this foreign land - to show them the love of the One who taught me about love and how to love. That Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

We stayed in the city for two weeks. Right when we arrived, we have already proven God’s faithfulness to us. “Wherever you go, I will watch over you.” (Genesis 28:15) He watched over us every day as we went out to witness and to do the ministry. He provided us a guide to the community. The sounds and sights of danger were present daily, but the Lord has kept us safe and has given us peace. When danger came a lot closer, these we dared not to love helped us to safety.

The Lord led us to old women and homes. Though we could not speak their language, those who could understand faithfully translated from my native language, to the next closest one, to their native language so that the others there with them could also hear the stories we shared.  We prayed with them and shared the love of Jesus with them.

The younger ones had tears in their eyes when they learned that hell is real and is forever.

We told them more stories of Jesus. They said they want to do what we do someday.

They may have not professed faith in Jesus as their Savior but I know that God has plan for them. Tears were in all our eyes as we hugged and said good byes.

This place is God’s prepared place. This is God’s city. And the people here are His people. The people whom most would not want to reach and love, they know how to love as well. They want to be loved. They hate war. They hate violence. They want peace. They are LOST. They need prayers. They need our GOD. 

“Then later I will bring you back to this land. I won’t leave you – I will do all I have promised. (Genesis 28:15)

Filipino Nehemiah Teams: Bicol Franchise Goes!

The time has come! We thank The Lord for bringing many young Filipinos together this month to serve The Lord among the unreached and hard to reach. Perhaps the best way to reach those who are groping in the darkness searching for truth is for those who share their cultural and many times, spiritual background to find them in that darkness and bring them to the light, Jesus. As mentioned before, these young people sacrifice their time, their finances, and sometimes their relationship with family to go and share Jesus in isolated, lost places. 

The Bicol franchise sent out 2 teams with a total of 7 members to the regions of Cam Sur and Cam Norte in Bicol. We ask that you pray for these teams and the people they will be ministering to this month from April 15-May 20.

For one of the first international Filipino Nehemiah Teams, a team of 2 were sent to the city-state of Singapore. We ask that you pray for this team the people they will be ministering to this coming month.

Perhaps the best way to reach those who are groping in the darkness searching for truth is for those who share their cultural and many times, spiritual background to find them in that darkness and bring them to the light, Jesus. As mentioned before, these young people sacrifice their time, their finances, and sometimes their relationship with family to go and share Jesus in isolated, lost places. 

The Palawan franchise sent out 1 team with a total of 3 members to a small island on the western side of the Philippine Islands. We ask that you pray for this team and the people they will be ministering to this coming month from April 12 to May 14.

The ZaNorte franchise sent out 2 teams with a total of 7 members to the area of North Cebu and the island of Bohol. We ask that you pray for these teams and the people they will be ministering to this month from April 15 to May 15.

Filipino NT: Update from Mt. Carmel Franchise

The team is doing well and is advancing the Word of God! Please pray for the eight families who the team is meeting with regularly for Bible study. Pray that they would have a growing interest in God's Word and that these families would make the decision to follow Christ. 

No Water??!! The team is asking specifically for prayers for rain so that they can proceed with baptisms. Thank The Lord for the opportunities God has given the team to share. Praise The Lord that people are eager to learn more about Jesus! 

Filipino Nehemiah Franchise: Luzon Franchise Goes!

The Luzon  franchise was able to send out 3 teams with a total of 12 members to various areas throughout the island of Luzon. We ask that you pray for these teams and the people they will be ministering to this coming month from April 12 to May 17.

Filipino Nehemiah Teams: Leyte-Samar UPDATE!

Hola everyone! I'm back in Dolores town. The team in D-town is doing well. Monday afternoon, 10 young people attended the True Love Waits seminar and heard the gospel. And one of them invited the team to have home Bible study. The family is willing and invited the team to come back anytime. 

Every morning the team walks 15 minutes to reach the people in another village, S-town, to follow up and encourage existing believers. Today, they are going to gather the believers in S-town and help them become a church. Also in S-town the team was invited to have a Bible study and shared the Four Spiritual Laws tract with 10 army personnel... And invited the team to continue lead the bible study with the army guys.

The Leyte-Samar franchise was able to send out 2 teams with a total of 9 members throughout the region of Eastern Samar. We ask that you pray for these teams and the people they will be ministering to this coming month from April 12 to May 18.

As we prepare and pray for upcoming Nehemiah Teams for this Summer 2015, let us not forget the work God is doing through the Filipino branch of Nehemiah Teams. This upcoming month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

Several teams from the ZaNorte franchise will be going to to minister to various groups of Cebuano people whose lives have been recently impacted by typhoons and other calamities. Be in prayer that these tragedies would cause hearts to open so that the Cebuano people would turn from their idol worship and come to follow him. 

Pray for:

* those Cebuano people who will soon be hearing the message of the gospel for the first time, that they would have open hearts ready to accept

* for those going to be able to raise financial support for living expenses in ZaNorte

* for travel safety to and from their ministry site

As we prepare and pray for upcoming Nehemiah Teams for this Summer 2015, let us not forget the work God is doing through the Filipino branch of Nehemiah Teams. This upcoming month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

The Bicol franchise will be sending teams to Bicol, a large peninsula connected to the island of Luzon, to minister to the Bicolano people. The people of this area are held in bondage by their worship of Catholic idols and occult practices, with many areas lacking even one evangelical church. These teams will be holding Bible studies in hopes of sharing the gospel and planting churches among the unreached and hard to reach.

Pray for:

* those Bicolano people who will soon be hearing the message of the gospel for the first time, that they would have open hearts ready to accept

* for those going to be able to raise financial support for living expenses in Bicol

* for travel safety to and from the ministry sites

This upcoming month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

Several teams will be going to the island of Luzon to minister in various provinces including Batangas, Quezon, and Oriental Mindoro. This wide range of southern Luzon includes many people whose lives are centered around idols and superstitious beliefs. It is only the gospel of Jesus Christ that can free them from this bondage of religion! Please pray that The Lord would use these young people to bring freedom to these places.

The remoteness of the Palawan islands adds to the difficulty of sharing the Gospel

As we prepare and pray for upcoming Nehemiah Teams for this Summer 2015, let us not forget the work God is doing through the Filipino branch of Nehemiah Teams. This upcoming month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

There will be several teams going out from the island of Palawan where the people are no doubt, hard to reach. One team will be serving in Agutaya where the people have just recently received the New Testament in their language; however, many of them still need a messenger to come help them understand it. Another team will be ministering to Cousins in Rizal where intermarriage with non-cousins have made people open to hearing the Truth.

Pray for:

* those people of Palawan who will soon be hearing the message of the gospel for the first time, that they would have open hearts ready to accept

* for those going to be able to raise financial support for living expenses on Palawan

* for travel safety to and from their ministry areas

As we prepare and pray for upcoming Nehemiah Teams for this Summer 2015, let us not forget the work God is doing through the Filipino branch of Nehemiah Teams. This upcoming month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

Several teams from the Caraga franchise will be reaching out to people on the northeastern part of the island of Mindanao, specifically in the Agusan River Valley, also on Dinagat island, and among the Kamayo and Higaonon tribes. People of these tribes and in these places put their faith in superstitious beliefs. They need messengers who will share with them the Word of God. Pray for the many young Filipino believers who will go share the gospel with the unreached and hard to reach.

* for those going to be able to raise financial support for living expenses
