"Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest?' I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." -John 4:35
This verse speaks so much truth. We cannot expect anything less from God. What we truly believe about God affects the way we live our lives. If you are a thirsty man in who is lost in a dry desert and someone tells you where to get water, your actions will reveal whether or not you have faith in that person's words. If you believe what he said was true, you will be stirred to action and go to find water because of the hope you were given. If you did not believe the person's words, you will not be moved to action. Because Abraham had faith, he was obedient. What if this were true for all Christians? And has God not already proven Himself by giving us the greatest hope? What is we all truly believed that the harvest is plentiful and ready to be harvested?
Being in the Philippines, God has proven Himself in our obedience time after time. We have shared the Gospel with hundreds of people and God has been faithful in saving many--many souls of men, women, and children. Our team has trekked roads and trails, hills and sidewalks, cornfields and forests. We have trekked all kinds of terrain to bring the Gospel to the lost wherever they may be, whether it be a family deep in the mountains or a student in the local high school. Everyone should have the chance to hear the Gospel.
Though here are so many here in the islands ready to receive the Gospel and follow Christ, the laborers truly are few. Our prayer is that the Lord would raise up Filipino believers to join in the harvest. That will be accomplished through prayer.
"The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, therefore PRAY EARNESTLY to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Matt. 9:37-38
Please pray with us for God to raise up leaders in the community. Pray for God to give them a vision of His Kingdom here on the earth.
Pray that we stand strong against the spiritual forces at work and have a boldness to fight and be strong in the Lord. We are in our last month here and God still has plenty of work left to do. It is a joy to do life together day by day and serve the Lord together with these amazing young men with open hands. Even in adversity, God has proven Himself faithful in so many ways.
Pray for the fruitfulness in our ministry as we finish up this last month this summer and that God would be glorified in all things.
