Share the Gospel through Social Media

Have you ever seen a photo on social media and been curious about it? Like, who posted it? What they were doing? Where was the photo was taken?
These days, social media is a touchy subject. Either you’re totally against it, you’re all for it, or you’ve decided to participate in it because it’s better to be in the know all than completely oblivious.
While out doing ministry, one of our teams had the privilege of meeting a young person named Keb, who was interested in the Gospel and wanted to learn more about Jesus. This was great news for the team, as they were already planning to check in and do Bible studies with friends they had met in previous weeks.

During the second Bible study with Keb, he shared that he saw the Lord use him in a unique way—all because of a photo he had posted on social media. The photo showed Keb and the team at his house during their Bible study. Because of this post, people at his school grew curious. They asked who Keb’s new friends were and why they had come to his house. Keb told them about the Bible study and used the opportunity to share what he had learned about Jesus and the Gospel!

The team was thrilled. One member said, “This was the first time I’ve seen someone outside of our team go and share the Good News. I was happy that God touched his heart and gave him the desire to share—all on his own accord.” He continued, “It’s cool to see his passion for the Lord and His Word, and the desire to share that with others. He was very bold and trusted in the Lord as he shared. I see the Lord doing great things through him.”

God calls everyone to be a disciple and to share the Gospel with all nations and every generation, but finding a natural way to do that is very hard. But in this case, God used social media to help spread the Word! He used it to spark curiosity in a community of young people, which led to the Gospel being shared with even more people.

How can you use your reputation, resources, and skills to serve Christ and spark Gospel conversations?? Wherever you go, or through whatever you post.... let it be GOOD NEWS!
