Glory to God

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ.  2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Pray for team members to seek God's good purpose for their lives so that He might be glorified.

A Family of Peace

What are expectations?

To our team, after this summer, they are meaningless. No longer will we know what to expect when it comes to the workings of our Father. This past week is the reason why.

This past Friday three of our team members were planning on meeting with one of our friends to study the Bible at a local mall. They sat at a coffee shop waiting (local perception of time is flexible; very flexible) when their friend arrived with the news that his whole family had tagged along and were waiting for them at the KFC. Dinner time in SEA at a KFC is CRAZY. Not only that... but their friend's family is a family of nine! They trudged towards KFC with the expectation of getting ZERO sharing or studying done. They were quite mistaken.

Our Father showed His dominance over any situation that night and reminded us with a powerful display of His sovereignty that He is the planner of all things and that He does not always need us to do all of His Kingdom's work.

Please pray for *Ahmad* (front left in the group photo) that God will send help to this family of peace, that they may gain their sight and have the courage to leave behind false teachings.

Please pray that our team will continue to grow in unity, that opportunities will continue to be provided to get the Good News out to those who need to hear it, and that our friends will be connected to other friends within the city so that churches will soon be planted.

With love from SEA,

Paving A Way for Unbelievers

The past few weeks for our team have been filled with lots of opportunities to share, grow relationships, and explore different parts of our country. This past week, our team went different ways to discover new areas that need the Good News of Isa.

Jeremy, Jenna, and I (Victoria) had the opportunity to travel to an island off the coast of our city to share the Good News with a few national believers who were to translate for us. This island only has 10 believers, the rest are Muslim, many of whom have never heard the story of Jesus. When we arrived, we were faced with many different barriers that prevented us from sharing the Gospel. We quickly learned that the spiritual soil on this island was extremely tough. It would be like trying to plant a flower seed in a pile of rocks.

As a tourist on the island, we had the chance to ride motor bikes across the whole island. At first, I was frustrated. Why we were driving from waterfall to waterfall when there were thousands of people who had never heard of the story of God's Grace? God began to teach me the truth of the following quote: "Prayer does not enable us to do a greater work for God, prayer IS a greater work for God." (Oswald Chambers) Driving across the whole island gave us a chance to pray for the people who had never heard. To pray for bold witnesses to come and share with the people who have never heard. To pray that God will soften the hearts of the people. To pray that every evil stronghold on the Island would be broken, so that the Gospel could be spread. It was humbling reminder that God is in control over every moment. Even in our frustrations, He is working through us for the betterment of His Kingdom.

Through out our five days there, we were able to share with five people. Two of which we left a translation of the Bible in there native language. Termia Kasih Tuhan (praise the Lord), that these people were able to hear the good news.

Pray that God would grow those seeds that were planted.
Pray that He would soften the soil on these island and send bold witnesses there to share the Gospel.

Thank you so much for praying for my team and I as we continue to follow Christ further into this world.

God's Power

...and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms... - Ephesians 1:19-20

Pray for team members to rely on the mighty power of God

Calling All Persons of Peace

Our experiences over the past week here in Southeast Asia have shown us a small glimpse of God's sovereignty. Even in the midst of utter spiritual darkness to the Gospel of Truth, we have all been able to see God's hand at work in the people of this city.

As the first week of Ramadan comes to a close and there are millions of people being called to prayer every few hours, it is easy to be discouraged by how vast the lostness is. Even in the lostness, God is still greater. He has given us many opportunities to share the truths of His Gospel and to show the love of His Son to the people of this city. He has allowed us to disciple and encourage many national believers to share the Gospel with the people of this country.

We stand amazed at what He has already ordained for our trip, and are excited to see where He leads us in the days to come.

"The cross before me, the world behind me. No turning back, no turning back."
                 -Sadhu Sundar Singh

Please pray for:

  • One of our national friends, who is a believer, to step out in obedience through baptism.
  • That we, as a team, would walk in the Spirit daily as we share the Gospel of Truth.
  • Our team member Jeremy, as he travels with national believers to share the Gospel on an unreached island.
  • That the Gospel seeds that have been sowed, will be watered and that God will soften the hearts of the lost in our city.
  • That God would be present as we continue to grow in relationships with unbelievers.

Meet the Team: Seed Sowers

Hello Everyone!
We are the Seed Sower team in Southeast Asia.

My name is David and I am the Seed Sower's team leader. I am an upcoming sophomore studying biology. My team and I have a heart for the Muslim people to see them come know Isa Al-Masih (Jesus the Messiah). I am here this summer with four other students from across the Southeast of America.

Our second team member is Jeremy who is a seminary student working on his M.Div. He adds to our team wisdom and a perspective of Scripture that we can use as we serve the people of SEA.

Next, we have Jenna who is famously known by our new friends in SEA as the girl who is from the place where Kentucky Fried Chicken originated. She adds a spark of joy and laughter to our team and  is always quick to put a smile on our faces.

Shane, a recent graduate in Accounting, loves to be the voice of stability and always offers a helping hand, not only to us as a team, but to everyone around him as well.

Our final team member, Victoria, is an upcoming senior in Social Work. She has a heart for those who are needy, especially those needy of the Gospel of grace. She adds peace and unity to our team.

As a team, we all ask that you pray for us as we pursue complete obedience to Isa Al-Masih. Pray that our hearts will be guarded from the evil one and from any discouragement meant to distract us in such a lost place. Pray that our hearts will be broken for what breaks Isa Al-Masih's.

Terima Kasih (Thank you),

The Seed Sowers
