Brown Eyes

The most captivating trait we've come to adore about this culture are their eyes. When we first arrived a few days ago, we were greeted by the many curious stares of their mesmerizing brown eyes. They began calling us "Forengie Forengie!" with big smiles and laughter. They are such a welcoming kind of people, willing to extend a hand in any situation, this gives us hope for their openess to the Gospel.
Our first few days were spent in orientation with a group that is leaving in a few weeks. They gave us more information about the culture such as how to enter a church, greet a priest, and wear the traditional netalla. It was all a bit overwhelming because we were still jet lagged from the 20 hour expedition, but we effectively stayed  awake and practiced the lessons they taught. The information has already helped a few of us build bridges to sharing the Gospel with a few of the girls in the neighborhood. We are all excited to see what God has in store for us this summer!
