We are coming upon our last week in our dear city, the one in which we
have spent two months! We have shared and shared, but have seen no
fruit. Each week we hold a English club in which we get to share stories
of the Son. Our last meeting for this was yesterday (Sunday), and we had big
plans. We were going to share the story of the death and resurrection of
the Son, and give an invitation to join the family.
We spent the
afternoon asking the Father for a harvest, for no distractions, for open
ears and hearts. .. and then we stepped outside: rain. The Father likes
to show off... so because of the rain we transferred our meeting to a
government building. Hahaha! A government building isn't exactly where
we had in mind for a big sharing of the Story, but like I said, the
Father likes to show off.
Despite the rain, we had about 11 people. In
the past weeks when we have shared, we have always had to stop and explain
parts that they did not understand since we have no translator, and our
friends don't understand some difficult words. However, they understood
the Story we shared perfectly! I stopped to ask if they had any
questions and if they understood, and they told me to stop
interrupting!!!
As the rain hit our tin roof, they gathered closer and
closer to Abby to hear. One of our friends shed a few tears during the
story. Afterwards, they thanked us for sharing what the Son had done for
them. You see, we've been sharing with these friends multiple times all
summer! But the story always fell flat on their ears... but not this
time. They heard; they understood; and now we ask the Father for their
acceptance of His gift.
I have been learning to ask the Father for big
things this summer. He is teaching Abby and me to have big faith. Mark 11:23-24
says "And Jesus answered them, 'Have faith in God. Truly, I say to
you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the
sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says
will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you,
whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it
will be yours."
We are believing that He will bring the harvest this
week! Please ask the Father with us for a harvest... we will be sharing
the J film tomorrow morning with everyone who is interested.
