Nehemiah Teams go through six days of orientation before
they go to their destinations for the summer. In the case of the Thai Dorms
girls, we had another week of orientation once we arrived in Thailand. This
involved getting to know the culture and the language. Yesterday marked the day
that we split up and went to our respective dorms.
Alexa, Rachel, Taylor & Kelsey on the way to their new homes |
It was a very bittersweet time, because we won’t be living
together any longer. We have gotten so close as a team in just two short weeks,
so it will be strange not seeing each other every day. Our dorms are all in
different parts of the city…not too far away, but farther than we are
accustomed to. On the other hand, we are very excited to start the jobs that
God has sent us to do. Here is a peek at our dorms.
New beds! |
Dorm A – Sam and Kelsey’s host parents were so excited for
their arrival that they bought them all new furniture, bedding, and even an
American toilet! Their room is precious.
Dorm B – Allison and Amber are living in a quaint little
Thai house. Their parents actually speak some English!
Dorm C – Alexa, Taylor, and Karen get to live right next to
the students they will be teaching every day!
I (Rachel) am living with the pastor of our church and his family.
They are lovely people, and they have an adorable daughter!
Please pray for all of us as we adjust to our new
surroundings!
