Stand with US

Please stand with us this week while we are traveling and learning language.  We started the journey early Thursday morning.  Here are some more specific prayer points:
  • Clarity to hear Dad when he’s talking/guiding
  • For blind eyes to see
  • Boldness to speak and wisdom/discernment to take full advantage of opportunities Dad gives us.
  • Safe & Easy Travel – A few bus rides & 5 flights are ahead; some cities may be tougher for 3 females than others
  •  Language learning – plan to have some intensive language lessons upon arrival as we are getting acclimated.

Orientation prepares 177 students to go

This year's Nehemiah Teams participants -- 177 students from 25 different states -- gathered in Rainsville, Alabama for a five-day orientation to prepare them to go abroad.

This is the largest group of students for NT ever, going to 16 countries across the globe and four areas in the US.

Orientation gathered students for security training, evangelism training, team building exercises and language learning. Participants attended small country-specific seminars to get information on cultures and religions in addition to generic large group sessions.

Teams attended a team building training day at a local ropes course that presented teams with a variety of challenges to test team chemistry and collaboration. For example, for one of the challenges the entire team had to fit on a tarp, which was halved in size for each additional round.

On one of the final nights, local church and family members were invited to a night of praise and worship.

The Lottie Moon offering was taken up to support IMB long term missionaries, one of whom shared how donations have directly impacted her, her family and her ministry. The night concluded with a powerful message on the salt and the light of the gospel from Matthew 5, encouraging students as they prepared to go on their mission assignments.

Please pray for these students as they "go, make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) and find out more about the individual teams by reading the "Meet the Team" posts.

2013 SE Asia EX & EV

Greetings from Nehemiah Teams!

My name is Eli, and I am blessed with the opportunity to keep you guys updated on the status of our team this summer.
Thanks to your prayerful support, 177 young adults from 75 colleges and 25 states will be travelling to 16 countries around the globe.
God has been so awesome throughout the whole process for preparing this years teams. Eight of these 177 students will be travelling to remote villages in Southeast Asia. We have an all-guys team, and are growing closer every day.

Please pray for God’s will to be done, and that we can come alongside and support the local missionaries. Pray that local, national churches can begin to pop up all over, and unreached people get reached.
Pray that God continues to overflow our team with His Spirit, and uses our team – Steve, Brad, Jacob, Eli, Scott, Sean, Chase, and Nick – to help finish the Great Commission in this generation!

2013 France Intro

Hey everyone, my name is Mitch and I want to introduce to you the team that I will be serving with this summer. My friend Brent and I will be serving in northern France this summer, along side some other summer missionaries that will sporadically be joining us.
For us it will be an amazing opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ. I am truly excited to see how God will be working. I want to ask you to take part in the mission with us. Your prayers are greatly needed for our rip and for the ministry we will be apart of. God has given us this amazing opportunity to serve, but without the Holy Spirit leading, and using us, we will accomplish nothing. So far training has been great. I am thrilled to be on the mission field over seas and to see God’s hand at work.
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:34-40
Blessings to all,
-Mitch
