Working for His Glory

This past week we were able to plant some corn and harvest cabbage. It was not necessarily hard work, but it was long work. We worked in the fields for the entire day each time. We were thankful to be able to help one of the church members and the pastor in their fields. It is our prayer that we would have a positive impact on the community with our labors. Soon we will be in the village for two weeks straight, and the work will be pretty intense.

I believe that God is using this time to shape us for the work He will lay out before us. It says in 2 Timothy 2:3, "Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus." God has made us not to live in comfort and safety, but in His will. That should be our ultimate goal in every aspect of our walk with Christ. He has made us to endure hardship.

In 2 Corinthians, the Christian walk is compared to running a race. Before he goes to the race, a runner must first prepare himself beforehand by conditioning himself. God would have us prepare ourselves in such a way that when difficulties arise they do not cause us to stumble. I am coming to see now that this applies to the sharing of faith. We should be so well versed in sharing the gospel that when the God appointed time comes the sharing is not what is difficult, but the attacks and contention from people and the devil should be what cause our difficulties.

All thanks be to God.
A bond servant of Christ,
